Temple Beth El was founded in 1947 in order to bring the spirit of Religious Liberalism to Rockland County. The purpose of Temple Beth El is to maintain a congregation devoted to the fundamental values of the Synagogue: Worship (Avodah); Learning (Torah); and Loving Acts (Gemilut Chasadim). Our mission is to worship God in accordance with the faith of Judaism and to cultivate in our synagogue community: an understanding of our Jewish heritage; public and private worship; religious education; social action; social activities; and to do any and all things necessary or desirable for carrying out the above purposes.
